Scheduling an alternative date that accommodates everyone involved so close to Christmas posed significant challenges, officials said. The city of Palm Coast has canceled the parade because severe weather conditions anticipated for Saturday pose a risk to the safety of both participants and spectators. Parking will also be available at Daytona State College. Parking is available at the Palm Coast Community Center (305 Palm Coast Parkway NE), where Flagler County buses will shuttle viewers to and from The European Village, where parking continues to be available as well as at the Waterfront Park. Boats will turn at the Gazebo in Grand Haven and return to their home ports. The parade will pass the Cimarron and Club House Waterways and sail under the Hammock Dunes Toll Bridge past St. It will begin at Cochise Waterway, Palm Coast’s northern cut to the Intracoastal Waterway, and head south. The parade, which sponsor Palm Coast Yacht Club calls the largest lighted boat parade in Florida, featured 91 decorated vessels last year. The event is free, but donations are welcome.
